Mobile apps

A mobile app makes sense when work happens in the field, in the warehouse, in production or at the customer: service orders, stock counts, fault reporting, ordering, data lookup. We build it for iOS and Android, natively or with a cross-platform framework, and connect it to your existing systems so data does not live twice. We build apps together with their web back end, publish them on the App Store and Google Play and maintain them after every new operating system release. Mobile apps are also part of our Imprion brand for hospitality and hotels.

What development includes

How app development runs

  1. 01

    Concept and prototype

We agree what the app solves and within two weeks build a clickable prototype that your people test in the field.

  2. 02

    Development

The back end and the app are built in parallel in two-week iterations; you install every version on your own phones.

  3. 03

    Testing and release

Testing on real devices, a security review, then store release or internal distribution; we handle the Apple and Google review processes.

  4. 04

    Maintenance

Crash and usage monitoring, updates for new system versions and new features under contract.

Frequently asked questions

Native or cross-platform app?

For most business apps cross-platform: one code base, both systems, lower maintenance cost. We develop natively when the app needs maximum speed, special hardware features or heavy offline data work. We justify the decision at the concept stage.

Does the app have to be on the App Store and Google Play?

No. Employee apps are distributed internally through device management or private store channels, without a public listing. A public release is only needed if your customers use the app.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Yes, if we design it in from the start: data is stored on the device and synchronised when the connection is back, with rules for resolving conflicts. This is standard for field and warehouse apps.

How much does app maintenance cost?

Apple and Google release a new system version every year that may require adjustments; count on yearly maintenance of a tenth to a fifth of the initial development. It includes updates, crash monitoring and back-end hosting.

What about data security on phones?

Data on the device is encrypted, login uses the company identity with MFA, and if a phone is lost the data is wiped remotely. Before release the app is reviewed by our Red team.

How long does development take?

A prototype in two weeks, a simple field-work app in two to three months, an app with a back end, integrations and offline mode in four to six months.
