IP telephony
The phone is still most customers' first contact with your company. IP telephony moves it onto the network you already have: a PBX in the cloud or on-premises, desk phones, an app on the phone and computer, one number for all locations and much lower call costs than classic lines. We have built telephony since 2007, from small offices to call centres with queues, recording and statistics. Because we also maintain the network, we make sure voice has priority and calls do not break up when someone transfers large files.
What it includes
How the move to IP telephony works
- 01
Inventory
Numbers, users, locations, business hours, queues and what bothers you about the current telephony.
- 02
Call design
We draw where each call goes: menus, groups, forwarding, out of hours; you approve before we configure.
- 03
Installation and number porting
The PBX and phones run in parallel with the old telephony; numbers are ported on the agreed day without an outage.
- 04
Training and maintenance
Short user training, instructions in your language and contracted maintenance with a 2, 4 or 8 hour response.
Frequently asked questions
Do we keep our existing phone numbers?
Yes. The numbers are ported to a SIP carrier and customers call the same numbers as before. We handle the porting, and on porting day the old and new telephony run in parallel.
PBX in the cloud or on our premises?
For most companies in the cloud: no hardware, a monthly cost, updates and backups are our concern, and it keeps working even if your location goes down. We recommend an on-premises PBX where the internet connection is unreliable or where the law requires it.
What is the call quality like?
With a properly configured network better than classic lines (HD audio). That is why we give voice priority in the network, check the internet link and, where needed, add a backup link so calls keep running during an outage.
Can employees call from their business number on a mobile phone?
Yes. The app on a mobile phone or computer is a full extension: calls, transfers, queues and the business number shown to the called party. The employee's private number stays private.
Are call recording and statistics legal?
Yes, when done properly: the caller is informed of the recording, recordings are kept for a limited time with role-based access, and employees are informed. We prepare the announcement and retention rules in line with GDPR.
How long does deployment take?
An office with twenty phones is in the cloud in one to two weeks, a call centre with queues and CRM integration in four to six weeks. Number porting to the carrier takes up to a few working days by law.
