Data centres
A data centre is more than a room with servers: it is a core network that must carry traffic without bottlenecks, redundant power and cooling, separated security zones and monitoring that detects a fault before a customer notices it. We design, build and operate all of this, on our own or for data centre operators. Together with Sonextis GmbH we built the core network of one of the most modern data centres in Germany in 2025. We build the same solutions on a smaller scale for companies that need their own server room or a cold standby site.
What our service covers
How a project runs
- 01
Requirements and sizing
We define capacities, availability, five-year growth and the security requirements of customers or law.
- 02
Design
Network, power and cooling architecture, equipment list and schedule; coordinated with construction partners.
- 03
Build and commissioning
Installation, cabling, configuration and redundancy testing: we switch off each component in turn and verify that everything keeps running.
- 04
Operation
24/7 monitoring, regular inspections, change management and a yearly availability report; on request also for your customers.
Frequently asked questions
Do you also build for data centre operators?
Yes. For Sonextis GmbH we built the core network of a data centre in Germany that hosts customers of several operators. We work as a technology partner: design, implementation and, if wanted, network operation as a service.
Do we need our own data centre or is the cloud enough?
Most companies are well served by our cloud or a tidy server room. An own data centre makes sense when you have legal requirements on data location, very large data volumes or production that must not depend on an external link. We cost both options.
How do you make sure one component's failure does not stop the centre?
All critical paths are duplicated: two power feeds, two switches, two carrier uplinks. At commissioning we deliberately switch off each component and document that traffic keeps flowing. The test is repeated yearly.
Do you work with builders and electrical contractors?
Yes. We lead the technology part (network, servers, security, monitoring) and provide the requirements for power, cooling and space; the construction and electrical work is done by your or our partners to our specifications.
How long does a build take?
A server room for a company is set up in four to eight weeks from equipment delivery. A data centre core network for an operator is a project of several months, depending on construction work and equipment lead times.
Can you operate a data centre you did not build?
Yes. We start with a review and documentation of the current state, then take over NOC monitoring, change management and maintenance under the agreed 2, 4 or 8 hour response times.
